The Dophin 8500 Double Air Pump is a strong, continuous-duty dual-outlet pump (up to 210 L/H) that features a 3-step or Hi/Low power switch to adjust aeration levels. It is commonly used for aquariums, ponds, and hydroponic reservoirs to boost dissolved oxygen.
How to Set It Up
Setting up your pump correctly ensures maximum efficiency and protects your equipment from accidental water siphoning.

- Step 1: Install a Check Valve
Cut a short piece of standard airline tubing and attach it to one of the pump’s outlets. Connect a non-return (check) valve to this piece. Crucial: Ensure the check valve points away from the pump (following any directional arrows) to prevent water from flowing backward if the power goes out. - Step 2: Connect the Airline Tubing
Attach a longer piece of airline tubing to the other end of the check valve. Route this tubing to the desired location in your fish tank, pond, or hydroponic reservoir. - Step 3: Attach the Airstone
Connect your airstone or sponge filter to the end of the long airline tubing and drop it into the water. Repeat the process on the second outlet if you are running multiple airstones.

Optimal Operation
- Power Settings: The “3-step” switch or Hi/Low setting on the side of the pump lets you easily control the air output.
- Positioning: Ideally, place the pump above the water level. If it must sit below the water level, ensure your check valves are functioning properly
